The main event of the FINOdays youth programme at the at Forum of Innovative Financial Technologies FINOPOLIS 2019, the Hackathon, came to a close.

Thecompetitionincluded17 studentteamsthatweretoprovidesolutionstoactualbusinesscasessetbyfinancialmarketleaders.As the tasks were announced,theteamshad24 hours to develop their projects and presentations which they had to defend before a panel. 

Three winning teams presented their projects to business executives – partners and organisers of FINOdays – in superfinalson 9 October. 

The first prize was shared by Techtación, the team that suggested the improvement of anti-fraud biometric identification system – face and unique recognition, and PPnP, the team that solved the gamification case for a bank using information on transactions. The panel awarded thesecondprizetotheHardwayteamthat created a recommendation discount system for bank customers in retail. 

We have seen teams that haven’t only come up with brilliant ideas, they have managed to develop and properly present them before the deadline. Thereisnodoubt that the suggested projects have a much bigger potential than their authors think,”said First Deputy Governor of the Bank of Russia Olga Skorobogatova.

Iveseenalotoftalentedyoungpeopletoday.Ireally like that they find their way to such big forums as FINOPOLIS and find serious organisers, work with high-profile mentors, they produce working projects that can be taken out to the market,” commented CEO of Qiwi Sergey Solonin. 

The winners and participants of the Hackathon received prize money and gifts from the organizers and partners of FINOdays. 

The rest of FINNOPOLIS will feature a meeting the Governor of the Bank of Russia Elvira Nabiullina, master classes and workshops held by fintech experts, networking, sporting events and many other things.
